We note here with sorrow the untimely death of Michael Chiarello, with whom we have collaborated for more than thirty years. Our classic pasta bowl shone at Tra Vigne, reclaimed by Michael as his risotto bowl. The cream/sugar tray, the "potted polenta" plate and the tiny sale (salt) pot were all made specifically for him. Pieces for the Napa Style catalog followed, then "share plates", bowls and fish stew bowls for Bottega. We will miss his delight in good food beautifully presented, his enthusiasm for local endeavors involving great food and his friendship.
