All dinnerware is custom-made to your specifications. A full set might consist of salad plate, dinner plate, dessert plate, soup bowl, and mugs or you may just want plates. Serving pieces also available.

Custom Dinnerware I wonder who has this set, captured in an old photo. Each 11″ plate is inlaid with an edible sea creature (shown, a squid and a tuna) and the bowls are the ones we used to make for Scott’s Seafood in San Francisco. The cups are handleless, useful for tea, coffee or water.

This is a set of plates we made for Marsha Pendergrass, who wanted each one to be different from the others. As I recall, this was her way of pulling together all of the odd bowls, cups and serving pieces she had collected over many years. It has the advantage of allowing her to add whatever she likes.

A local Bed & Breakfast called Foothill House has used our hand-painted animal plates for almost twenty five years. This is a set of dinner plates made for one of their guests who came up with a wish list of farm animals. I have made other sets portraying wild animals, deep sea fish, inland (river and lake) fish, domesticated fowl and wild ducks. These can be done as sets or as single serving pieces.

Whenever we glaze a dinnerware order we make extra pieces of each shape (in case we lose one in the firing), then let the buyers make the final selection. I really enjoy this part of the process, in which the people who have ordered the work bond with their pottery. Typically we use the considering table for this purpose. I don’t know why we used the floor this time. Fortunately this pair was undaunted.
