This is a coaster/memento we were asked to make for a Slow Food convention. We started experimenting with decals when people started asking for website information on small pieces.
Decals on coasters for a variety of clients.
This is our own personal dinnerware. It consists of a 10″ plate with a pasta/risotto bowl (which works for alads and stews as well). It’s the red (iron saturate) glaze with drawings by family inlaid in the grapevine ash glaze. The occasion was a crab feed in the pottery on New Year’s Eve 2009.
We’ve made more of this particular bowl than any other. We developed the shape and glaze with Michael Chiarello when he was chef at Tra Vigne specifically for his risotto dishes.
